Thanksgiving
- Thank God our church will have the new website online this week after some delays last week. Further work will be needed to finalise the draft and to do the regular updates.
- For brothers and sisters serving in various ministries in our church, from preachers and teachers, to group leaders, cooks, translaters, cleaners, etc.
- For prayers answered, many members’ illnesses healed and for lives changed.
- For the visit of SCCC returnees and families from many countries after many years, and encouragement from their updates and sharings.
- Thank God for the COCM ministry and recent camps in Milton Keynes. Many have been encouraged.
Prayer Items
- Pray for churches in Britain and Europe, for repentance, revival, repentance and a return to God and His values.
- Continue to remember our brothers and sisters suffering persecution for their faith all over the world. Pray for their persecutors to be convicted by the Holy Spirit and repent of their actions.
- Pray for those suffering especially in the earthquake in Lombok, Indonesia, in which nearly 100 people died and 20,000 homeless, California wildfires which has burnt through nearly 300,000 acres of land in the state and the unrest and severe demonstrations and clashes with police in Dhaka, Pakistan.
- That the Lord will prepare and send someone called by Himself for the important and responsible position of church pastor in our church.
- Pray for the visit of Sherman Man Ming Cheung, an applicant for our church pastor position. He will be visiting Sheffield 9 July till 2 October with his family. His CV is being displayed on the church noticeboard.
- For the visit of Tim Chung and family from Hongkong at the end of next month.
- Pray for our church leaders and deacons in their walk before God and the proper balance of their responsibilities in church, their professional and family lives and leisure activities.
- For the Chinese Church Restaurant Evangelical Fellowship, meeting in our church building on 13 August, for a blessed and successful meeting.
- For our church evangelism programme as our outreach BBQ on 18 August is now cancelled.
- Continue to pray for improvement in attendance at our church prayer meetings. Tuesday evening at 7.30 pm, for Sunday morning Church prayers at 9.30am, and monthly combined church congregations’ prayer meeting on 4th Sunday of each month.
- For those travelling on their summer holidays in August and for a blessed time of rest and walk with God.
Pray for our church having implemented the General Data Protection Regulations and careful use of all the private and personal data of church members and friends held in SCCC.

- For our church day trip to Matlock and Bakewell on 21 August and fellowship amidst God’s beautiful creation.

- For the visit of SCCC returnees and families from many countries after many years, and encouragement from their updates and sharings.

- Pray for those affected by the bridge collapse in Genoa Italy and families of the 39 people known to be killed.
- For for those suffering especially in the flood in Kerala, India, the earthquake in Lombok, Indonesia, the California wildfires and the earthquake in the Caribbean.
- Remember before the Lord the unrest and public demonstrations in Pakistan and elsewhere.
- That the Lord will prepare and send someone called by Himself for the important and responsible position of church pastor in our church.

- Thank God for answering prayers at our monthly combined church prayers on 26 August. Our church minibus has been found after the break in at our church building at Anns Road. Several items were stolen still not found. Pray we learn a lesson to take care of our church property seriously and alarm and lock securely when leaving the building.
- For our new website which is now online. Work will still be needed to complete the website and to do the regular updates.
